Garry Corbett offers this picture and writes: “Here’s an impromptu portrait of the Pat Giraud trio taken at their appearance at the Public in West Bromwich. The gig was part of the Birmingham International Festival. The trio lead by Pat from the Hammond Organ gave their take on the classic Hammond trio with a broad sweep of jazz history from Ellington to the kind of sound associated with 60′s Blue Note recordings by Lou Donaldson. If anything the set had too broad a sweep. The Blue Note end of things would have made for a more cohesive flow. One thing for sure; it swung like a bell in a hurricane.”For a link to see more of Garry’s pictures, just click on this one.
