The band that makes the angles fit… Guitarist Matt Stevens and tenor saxophonist Walter Smith III at rehearsal last Saturday before the Walter Smith III Quartet concert at the CBSO Centre, expertly composed by photographer John Watson.

Tony Dudley-Evans, from the concert’s promoters, Jazzlines, said: “Walter is a very modest man and his music is gentle, but complex.  A kind of modern Lester Young.  Jamire Williams and Matt Stevens were very impressive with Matt showing some affinity with the downtown NY school.”
