Birmingham band Balkans bound

tgcollective-balkan-tourFlamenco jazzers TG Collective are going on tour with six dates in Bulgaria and Serbia over the next week and a bit.

The band – Sam Slater and Jamie Fekete on guitars, Holly Jones on flute, Lluis Mather on clarinet, Joelle Barker on percussion and Chris Mapp, in for Percy Pursglove, on double bass, with Alejandro Merola on sound – are probably packing the bus as I write.

On Saturday they play the main stage at the Bansko International Jazz Festival in Bansko, Bulgaria, with a club gig in Sofia on Tuesday 13 August, the Nisville International Jazz Festival, in Nis, Serbia, on Wednesday 14, Thursday 15 and Sunday 18, all on different stages, and the same festival but at Vranje on Friday 16.

You’ll be able to follow their progress /tgcollective on both facebook and twitter. For more about the band go to www.tgcollective.com
