The Lobbus – tonight at The Spotted Dog

Late with the news, but not too late! Guitarist Tobie Carpenter brings his intriguing drummerless band into this pub in Digbeth this evening.

With Carpenter in The Lobbus there seems to be a shifting personnel which could include some of the following: Lluis Mather on tenor saxophone, clarinet, bass clarinet and flute, Becky Woodcock on clarinet, Chris Young on alto saxophone, Nadim Teimoori on tenor saxophone and clarinet, Callum Roxborough on tenor saxophone, Matt Holborn on violin, Katy-Ellen Brice on violin or viola, and Sebastiano Dessanay on double bass.

Pianist Liam Noble had this to say about the band: “A hugely original project, often evoking the music of Bill Frisell… Very promising stuff.”

The music starts at 9pm, and the hat will be passed around. The Spotted Dog is at 104 Warwick Street, Digbeth B13 0NH.
