Even more on offer in Silk’s Spotted jazz school tonight

A quick reminder that the Jonathan Silk Quintet is at The Spotted Dog in Digbeth tonight. This is a very classy band indeed, with two toughly contrasting tenors up front, a fiery piano soloist and a bass and drums foundation that could support the BT Tower.

And late breaking news suggests five will in fact become six this evening: Thomas Seminar Ford on guitar joins Nick Lecture Rundle and John Tutorial Fleming on tenor saxophones, Andy Symposium Bunting on keyboards and BBQ, Chris Conference Mapp on bass and Jonathan Forum Silk on drums.

The Spotted Dog is at 104 Warwick Street, Digbeth, Birmingham B12 0NH. The fun starts around 9pm, and a fiver or more when the donations glass comes round would be damn good jazz value.

More about Jonathan and his band is here.
